Workshop Description:
All of business is driven by relationships; effective communications are at the heart of business and career success. It is not just a meritocracy – career-minded individuals must consistently and effectively communicate why they are the best candidate for a position and what they have accomplished or can accomplish that demonstrates that fact.

Key Workshop Components:
Communication Skills. In this segment of the workshop, we will emphasize effective
communication strategies for interview settings as well as during times of change.
Communication Strategies for High Tech Professionals. In this segment, we will highlight how and why communication is important in high tech environments. We will also provide critical guidance on why different communication settings require correspondingly different
communication approaches. Business Acumen. In this segment, we will discuss how to successfully negotiate the challenges of the workplace environment. The Brand Called “You”. And as our overarching message, we will share how the concepts of consistent and accurate branding apply to, and are critical to, individuals who wish to expand
their careers.

Key Benefits to Participants:
1. Understanding our own personal branding reveals to us those messages we are often
unconsciously transmitting, enabling us to choose the impression that we make on others.
2. Understanding that communication occurs at many levels – including what we say and write, how we say it, what we do and don’t do all of the time – enables us to make powerful choices about creating the brand that we want.
3. Others’ perception of us, based on all of our verbal and nonverbal communications, creates our brand whether we like it or not; we can learn how to shape that perception into something we choose.
4. Inspiring confidence that we can do the job (in the perception of interviewers, supervisors,
colleagues and others) leads to career success – including job offers, promotions,
acknowledgement, and compensation.

2008 CASPA/SEMI High-Tech Job Fair Invitation

Dear Staffing and HR Professionals:

Your company is cordially invited to attend the “2008 CASPA/SEMI High-Tech Job Fair” scheduled for Saturday, April 19, 2008 in Milpitas, California, April 20 in Portland, Oregon, April 22 in Phoenix, Arizona, and April 25 in Austin, Texas1. This year CASPA accomplishes another milestone in co-organizing the Job Fair with SEMI. With CASPA and SEMI joining forces, this event will be unprecedented and filled with much excitement and anticipated success.

In the past, the Annual Job Fair has been a very successful and popular CASPA event. Thousands of professionals in semiconductor and related industries have attended. It serves high-tech companies in semiconductor, communication, networking, software, IC design, and other related fields. A total of twenty-two exhibitors participated in CASPA 2007 Job Fair, including: ACM Research, Apexone Microelectronics, Applied Materials, Faraday Technology Corp., Global Unichip Corp., Huawei/Hisilicon Technologies, ITRI, Kilopass, Marvell, Mavcom Inc., OmniVision, Pantronix, Power Analog Microelectronics, Rising Solutions, SEMI, Shanghai Association (SAIEP), SMIC, Spansion, SST, TSMC, UMC Group (USA), and Winbond America. Many other industry leaders have also participated over the years. These companies were impressed by the caliber and the breadth of experiences of the job seekers they interviewed, as well as the quality of the resumes they received. By recruiting at all four different major cities where many high-tech professionals reside, your company will have good chances of finding top-notched and well-qualified candidates to fill key positions, critical to the explosive growth of your company in years to come.

We would like to invite you to take advantage of this excellent opportunity to recruit skilled and experienced professionals for your thriving business needs. The attached files contain all the information for the 2008 Job Fair and a Registration Form. You may send the completed registration package to CASPA by fax, email, or postal mail.

We are happy to inform you that our fees remain same as those in last year. In fact, we are proud of keeping fees low and enhancing services. By comparison, our fees are only a fraction of those of similar job fairs held in the same areas, while the efficiency and benefit of finding and hiring the right people add tremendous value to the continuing success of your company. The registration deadline is March 14, 2008. There is a $100 Early Bird Discount, if you register on or before February 29, 2008. Since the number of booths is limited, early registration is encouraged and highly recommended.

We look forward to your joining the 2008 Job Fair and thank you for your continued support to CASPA and SEMI.

Please download the job fair invitation package for more detail.

Both the US and China face daunting challenges in the areas of national security, long-term economic competitiveness, and global warming. Energy is at the center of all three, making it arguably the most important problem that we must solve in the coming decades. While there are no magic bullets, the answer clearly lies in increasing energy efficiency in the short term and developing sustainable, carbon-neutral energy sources over the longer term.
